WHERE ARE THEY NOW? The deep and star-studded 2011 NBA Draft class

The 2011 NBA Draft has proven to be one of the deepest classes in recent memory.

The class was highlighted by No. 1 pick Kyrie Irving, but perhaps most interesting is how many stars have developed from picks all over the class.

Klay Thompson was picked 11th, Kawhi Leonard was picked 15th, Jimmy Butler was picked 30th. Even Isaiah Thomas was picked 60th, the last pick of the draft!

Over time, the class has evolved into one of the deepest and most star-studded in NBA history. Here’s where the picks are today.

The Cavaliers took Kyrie Irving with the No. 1 pick.

---

Irving spent six years with the Cavs, helping them win the 2016 championship with an epic step-back three-pointer. In 2017, he requested a trade and landed with the Boston Celtics, where he can be the No. 1 option.

The Minnesota Timberwolves took Derrick Williams with the second pick.

---

Williams bounced around the league, playing for six teams in seven years. He played just two games with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2017-18 and is currently unsigned.

The Utah Jazz took Enes Kanter with the third pick.

---

Kanter has also bounced around the league. He’s currently with the New York Knicks.

---

The Cavaliers also drafted Tristan Thompson with the fourth pick.

---

Thompson has been a crucial member of the Cavs for his defense and rebounding.

---

The Toronto Raptors took Jonas Valanciunas with the 5th pick.

---

Valanciunas is still with the Raptors today. He has career averages of 11.7 points and 8.5 rebounds per game.

The Wizards took Jan Vesely with the sixth pick.

---

Vesely played three seasons in the NBA, averaging 3.6 points per game. He now plays for Turkish team Fenerbache.

The Sacramento Kings took Bismack Biyombo with the seventh pick and later traded him to the then-Charlotte Bobcats in a three-team trade.

---

Biyombo has been productive at times, but has struggled after signing a $72 million deal in 2016. He was traded back to the Hornets this offseason.

The Detroit Pistons took Brandon Knight with the eighth pick.

---

Knight has had his moments in the NBA, but has never stuck with any team. He is currently on the Suns. He missed the 2017-18 season with a knee injury.

The Hornets (then Bobcats) took Kemba Walker with the ninth pick.

---

Walker has developed into an All-Star in Charlotte, with career averages of 19 points and 5 assists per game.

---

The Milwaukee Bucks drafted Jimmer Fredette with the tenth pick and later dealt him to the Kings.

---

Fredette played on five teams in five seasons. He now plays in China.

---

The Warriors took Klay Thompson with the 11th pick.

---

Thompson is part of the Warriors’ core four players and one of the best shooters and defenders in the NBA.

---

The Jazz took Alec Burks with the 12th pick.

---

Burks is still with the Jazz. He has career averages of 9.7 points per game and 2.9 rebounds.

The Suns took Markieff Morris with the 13th pick.

---

Morris has become a steady role player in his career and now plays for the Wizards.

---

The Houston Rockets took Markieff’s twin brother Marcus with the 14th pick.

---

Marcus is now a member of the Celtics.

---

The Spurs made a draft-night trade with the Pacers to steal their 15th pick, Kawhi Leonard.

---

Leonard won a championship, Finals MVP, and two Defensive Player of the Year awards with the Spurs. He was traded to the Raptors this offseason after a bizarre falling-out with the Spurs.

The Philadelphia 76ers took Nikola Vucevic with the 16th pick.

---

Vucevic has been with the Magic for six seasons, averaging 16 points and 10 rebounds per game during his time in Orlando.

---

The New York Knicks took Iman Shumpert with the 17th pick.

---

Shumpert was traded to Cleveland in 2014 where he helped the Cavs win a championship, and was traded to the Kings last season.

---

The Wizards took Chris Singleton with the 18th pick.

---

Singleton played three years in the NBA, averaging 4.1 points per game and now plays in the Euroleague.

---

The New Orleans Pelicans (then-Hornets) took Tobias Harris with the 19th pick, then traded him to the Milwaukee Bucks.

---

Harris is now on the Clippers, his fourth team in seven years. He averages 15 points per game for his career.

---

The Timberwolves took Donatas Motiejunas with the 20th pick in the draft and later traded him to the Rockets.

---

Motiejunas is now playing in China. He averaged seven points per game while appearing in over 60 games just twice in five years in the NBA.

The Blazers took Nolan Smith with the 21st pick in the draft.

---

Smith played just 84 games in two seasons. He is now a special assistant on Duke’s men’s basketball team.

The Denver Nuggets took Kenneth Faried with the 22nd pick.

---

After seven years with the Nuggets, Faried was traded to the Nets this offseason. He has career averages of 11 points and 8 rebounds per game.

The Chicago Bulls drafted Nikola Mirotic with the 23rd pick.

---

Mirotic is now on the Pelicans. He averaged a career-high 16 points per game with New Orleans.

---

The Oklahoma City Thunder took Reggie Jackson with the 24th pick.

---

Jackson is now the starting point guard for the Pistons. He has averaged 16 points and 6 assists per game in four seasons with the Pistons.

The Celtics drafted MarShon Brooks with the 25th pick in the draft and later traded him to the then-New Jersey Nets.

---

Brooks left the NBA after three years to play in China, but returned to the NBA to play with the Grizzlies in 2017-18.

---

The Dallas Mavericks took Jordan Hamilton with the 26th pick, then traded him to the Nuggets.

---

Hamilton played five years in the NBA and now plays in Israel.

---

The New Jersey Nets took JaJuan Johnson with the 27th pick, then traded him to the Celtics.

---

Johnson played just one year in the NBA. He has played overseas since 2012 and currently plays in Russia.

---

The Bulls took Norris Cole with the 28th pick, then traded him to the Heat.

---

Cole was a valuable member of LeBron James’ Miami Heat teams, but has since played on three teams in three years. He’s currently on the Israeli team Maccabi Tel Aviv.

The Spurs took Cory Joseph with the 29th pick.

---

Joseph now plays backup point guard for the Pacers.

---

The Bulls drafted Jimmy Butler with the 30th pick, the last of the first round.

---

Butler has developed to become one of the NBA’s best two-way players and a perennial All-Star. After six seasons with the Bulls, Butler was traded to the Wolves.

The Houston Rockets took Chandler Parsons in the second round with the 36th overall pick.

---

Parsons signed a $94 million with the Grizzlies in 2016, but has been hampered by injuries. He has career averages of 13 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists per game.

Finally, with the last pick in the draft, the Kings drafted Isaiah Thomas.

---

Thomas became one of the league’s most dynamic scorers with the Celtics in 2016-17. He was traded to the Cavs, then the Lakers, struggling to be effective after a hip injury. He signed with Nuggets this offseason.
